Determining Feasibility

The investigation phase commenced in June 2024 during this phase we met with neighbours to the investigation area and the community to hear concerns, discuss impacts and opportunities and gather feedback on the proposal.
We had over 400 interactions with the community during this time which allowed us to develop the draft layout for discussion.

What area does the Planning and Investigations Permit cover?

The Permit Area issued by Forestry Corporation of NSW comprises softwood plantations at Gurnang, part of Mount David, and some parts of Vulcan south of Black Springs. All proposed wind turbines would be more than 15km from Oberon.

What has been done so far?

We have held several community drop in sessions in Black Springs, Burraga and Oberon.

We have met with neighbours and the local community to seek feedback, including on project design.

We have commenced some initial studies including transport routes and some ecology.

We have launched the Electricity Bill Credit Program and held the first round of Community Sponsorships.

We have released the first draft layout for discussion.

What benefits are there for the community
